The Importance Of Drinking Enough Water

Water contributes to energy use by being stored with glycogen. If you do not drink enough water, extra glucose remains in your bloodstream until it reaches your liver. This extra glucose is stored as fat. (This is why whenever you start a new diet or choose to eat healthier, the number one key is to drink a lot of water) You can actually get fatter when you do not consume enough water. If you are dieting, you must drink enough water so that your liver can effectively metabolize body fat. Not to mention all of the other health benefits of being properly hydrated!

A safe recommendation for daily intake would be half of your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 150 lbs, you would need to drink 75 ounces of water to flush your body and avoid dehydration.
